General Care Instructions

For better product longevity, we recommend:

  • Always check the garment care label before washing.
  • Wash light and dark colours separately.
  • Avoid soaking garments for extended periods.
  • Use mild detergent where appropriate.
  • Avoid harsh bleach or strong cleaning chemicals unless specifically permitted.
  • Do not wring delicate fabrics aggressively.
  • Dry garments according to their fabric-specific instructions.
  • Store garments in a clean and dry place.

Washing Instructions

Different fabrics require different washing methods.

For everyday washable apparel, use cold or normal-temperature water with a mild detergent unless the garment label states otherwise.

For delicate, heavily embroidered, embellished or premium fabrics, dry cleaning may be recommended.

Do not assume that every Wentra product is machine washable. Always follow the instructions provided for the individual product.

Hand Wash

Where hand washing is permitted:

Use a mild detergent and gently wash the garment without excessive rubbing, twisting or wringing.

Wash coloured garments separately, particularly during the first few washes.

Machine Wash

Only machine wash a product when its care instructions indicate that machine washing is suitable.

Where appropriate, use a gentle cycle and avoid washing delicate garments together with heavy clothing or items with hooks, zippers or accessories that could damage the fabric.

Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning may be recommended for products featuring:

Embroidery • Sequins • Beadwork • Delicate fabrics • Special finishes • Heavy embellishments

Please check the garment label or product-specific care instructions before cleaning.

Drying

Where applicable:

  • Avoid excessive exposure to strong direct sunlight.
  • Dry coloured garments separately where necessary.
  • Avoid tumble drying unless specifically permitted.
  • Reshape garments gently before drying where appropriate.
  • Ensure garments are completely dry before storing.

Strong sunlight may cause certain colours and fabrics to fade over time.

Ironing

Always check the garment care label before ironing.

Use an appropriate temperature for the fabric. Delicate or synthetic fabrics may require a low-temperature setting.

For printed, embroidered or embellished areas, avoid applying a hot iron directly to decorative work.

Where appropriate, iron the garment from the reverse side or use a protective cloth between the iron and fabric.

Embroidered & Embellished Apparel

Garments featuring embroidery, sequins, stones, beads or other decorative work should be handled carefully.

Avoid:

  • Pulling or rubbing embellishments
  • Folding directly over heavy decorative work
  • Applying perfume directly to embellished areas
  • Direct high-temperature ironing
  • Rough washing or wringing

Professional dry cleaning may be preferable for heavily embellished garments.

Colour Care

Some fabrics and deeply coloured garments may release a small amount of colour during initial washes.

We recommend washing such garments separately and following the product-specific care instructions.

Actual care requirements may vary depending on the fabric and manufacturing process.

Storage

Store apparel in a cool, clean and dry environment.

For long-term storage:

Keep garments clean and completely dry before storing. Avoid damp areas and prolonged direct sunlight.

Delicate or embellished garments should be folded or stored carefully to prevent damage to decorative work.

Saree Care

For sarees and other delicate ethnic wear:

  • Dry clean where recommended.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
  • Store in a clean and dry location.
  • Refold periodically during long-term storage.
  • Handle zari, embroidery and embellishments carefully.
  • Avoid spraying perfume directly onto delicate fabric or decorative work.
